Cardinal, a Dallas based risk management consultancy, was founded in 1995. Our objective was to develop a business model which would allow us to provide high valued risk management expertise based upon our extensive corporate and insurance industry expertise.

We believed that the risk management needs of mid-market businesses were not being served with advice and counsel independent of the sale of insurance products. We also believed that many mid-market businesses lacked understanding of insurance products to make informed decisions to manage their risks in a cost effective manner.

In larger businesses, we believed that internal risk management functions were often underutilized and excluded from the global risk management decision process of the company. They were not an integral part of the corporate business process and often replicate functions found elsewhere in the company. Many lack the training and / or experience to effectively manage loss prevention and claims. In addition insurance company and broker resources are left untapped.

Since 1995, Cardinal has grown in both the number of experienced risk management professionals and in the number of clients served. Whether we are serving on a limited project or in a long term outsourcing capacity, all client services are managed and staffed by experienced professionals.

Our services to public and private entities have encompassed a wide variety of industries which allows us to transfer unique risk management solutions across those industries. We maintain a broad knowledge of the insurance marketplace from our interaction with numerous insurers and brokers. We believe that these relationships make our consulting and outsourcing activities particularly valuable to our clients.
